The future of this situational comedy is currently unknown. Having aired 11 out of the 13 episodes for the second season, the show is on hiatus. Its unfortunate that this series may be canceled, as it is actually very good in poking fun at the stereotypes of corporate America.
Characters in this series work for Veridian Dynmaics, a company that puts profit in front of everything else. Ted is the head of the R&D department and is the golden boy of the company. He is loved by his most of his employees and respected by those above him. Linda serves as Ted's love interest, although they both deny their attract for one another. She is the head of testing under Ted's department. Veronica is Ted's immediate supervisor who is a cold and calculating woman. Then there are the laboratory scientists, Dr. Phil and Dr. Lem and are the quintessential "nerds'.
"The company", as the characters like to call Veridian is a seemingly ruthless super corporation who holds so much power that they control presidential elections and holds more influence than almost all countries in the world. Each character tries their best to both reap the rewards and manipulate the system in their favor. Some examples of these misdeeds include an episode where Ted makes up a project called "Jabbawocke" to serve as a front for some money that is missing within his department. These funds are actually used by Linda to create a flower garden at the top of the Veridian headquarters. Things get out of hand when others find out about this mysterious Jabbawocke project and everyone wants to be a part of it. Better off Ted is a humorous comedy that depicts all those things about the business world that unfortunately sometimes hold a bit of truth. 4/5.
